Symptoms
Audible, painful snap at elbow following forceful elbow flexion
Swelling, tenderness, and
Bruising
occurs at anterior upper arm, proximal to elbow
Sudden onset with sharp snapping
Sensation
Pain and weakness of
Shoulder
and arm
Signs
Weak flexion at elbow
Some flexion may be maintained
Requires intact overlying deep fascia of antecubital
Weak supination at
Forearm
Bulbous swelling in upper arm on flexion
Localized bulge at distal biceps when elbow flexed
Bulge represents retracted biceps

Rarely indicated due to minimal pain and dysfunction
