  • Biopsy Results - Uninterpretable
  1. Insufficient sample occurs in up to 31-51% of cases
  2. No tissue in sample occurs in 11% of samples

  1. Atrophic endometrium
  2. Proliferative endometrium
  3. Secretory endometrium
  • Indications
  • Biopsy Results - Abnormal
  1. Endometrial Cancer
  2. Endometrial Hyperplasia
    1. Cystic hyperplasia (rarely progresses to cancer)
      1. No treatment necessary
    2. Adenomatous hyperplasia (10% progresses to cancer)
      1. Intermittent or continuous Progestin
      2. Repeat biopsy in 3 to 6 months
    3. Atypical Adenomatous hyperplasia (25-50% progress)
      1. No future pregnancy planned
        1. Hysterectomy
      2. Future Fertility desired
        1. Consult with gynecology due to high risk
        2. High dose continuous Progestin
        3. Resample every 6 months
