Helicobacter Pylori Treatment
Background
Take suspension 30 minutes prior to a meal
Tablets may be taken regardless of food intake
Suspension may be given via
NG tube
or
G-Tube
Intravenous dosing available
Duodenal Ulcer
or erosive
Esophagitis
Take 40 mg orally daily
Zollinger Ellison Syndrome
Take 40 mg orally twice daily OR
Administer 80 mg IV every 8 to 12 hours until taking oral medications

with erosive eosphagitis
Weight <15 kg (off-label)
Give 0.5 to 1 mg/kg/day
Weight 15 to 40 kg
Give 20 mg orally daily for up to 8 weeks
Weight >=40 kg
Give 40 mg orally daily for up to 8 weeks
Pharmacokinetics
All PPIs have short plasma half life of 1-2 hours
Effect is delayed 5-7 days until proton pumps are fully blocked
