- Cricothyrotomy
- Needle Cricothyrotomy
- Foreign Body Aspiration with airway obstruction in infants
- Conscious Infant
- Deliver 5 Back Blows
- Deliver 5 Chest Thrusts
- Support head and place infant face up
- Sandwich infant between your hands
- Turn on back with head lower than trunk
- Head and neck supported with one hand
- Trunk and body straddled over Forearm
- Deliver 5 Chest thrusts (3-5 seconds)
- Apply with 2 fingers over midsternum
- Use similar technique as with Chest Compressions
- Support head and place infant face up
- Repeat Back blows and Chest Thrusts Until:
- Foreign body is expelled
- Infant becomes unconscious
- Unconscious Infant
- Perform 5 Back blows and 5 Chest Thrusts as above
- Check for foreign body
- Do NOT perform a blind finger sweep
- Remove foreign body ONLY if visualized
- Open airway and attempt to ventilate
