Symptoms follow 2-4 days (up to 12 days) of asymptomatic

Fever
with abrupt onset

Pharyngitis
Back pain
Headache
Polyarthralgias, especially small joints (e.g. ankles, wrists, toes, fingers)
May be severe, similar to
Dengue Fever
Signs
Rash (present in 50% of patients)
Pruritic rash
Starts with
Flushing
and then maculopapular rash involving trunk and extremities
Desquamation
of palms and soles
Bullous
Facial Edema
Other uncommon presentations
Meningoencephalitis (children)
Ocular changes
