  1. Diazo-Bonded 5-ASA product
    1. Oral agent converted to active 5-ASA (Mesalamine) by Bacteria within the colon
  • Dosing
  • Adult (and age>5 years)
  1. Colazal
    1. Start 2.25 g orally three times daily for 8 to 12 weeks
    2. Next 3 to 6 g/day divided three times daily
  2. Giazo (only male patients)
    1. Start 3.3 g orally twice daily for 8 weeks
