    1. Dermatomyositis (Heliotrope rash)
    2. Discoid Lupus (Localized Eyelid lesion)
  4. Blepharitis
  5. Seborrhea
  6. Rosacea
  7. Pediculosis Ciliaris (eyelash lice)
  8. Systemic conditions with Eyelid Edema
    1. Angioedema
    2. Congestive Heart Failure
    3. Hypothyroidism
    4. Renal Failure

  • Unilateral Eyelid Inflammation
  1. See bilateral causes above (may be asymmetric)
  2. Herpes Simplex
  3. Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus
  4. Hordeolum (stye) or Chalazion
  5. Periorbital Cellulitis or Preseptal Cellulitis
  6. Malignancy
    1. Basal Cell Carcinoma (90% of Eyelid malignancies)
    2. Squamous Cell Carcinoma (5-10% of Eyelid malignancies)
    3. Sebaceous carcinoma (<5% of Eyelid malignancies)
    4. Cutaneous T Cell Lymphoma
