  • Symptoms
  1. Focal pain and swelling at the second or third costochondral margin
  • Signs
  1. Visible swelling and tenderness at the second or third costochondral margin
  • Causes
  1. Rheumatologic Disease
  2. Infection typically associated with chest wall Trauma
    1. Surgical or Stab Wounds
    2. Intravenous Drug Abuse
  3. Cancer
    1. Primary tumor of the rib or lung
    2. Metastatic disease
