Isradipine, Dynacirc

  • Indications
  • Dosing
  • Adults
  1. Start 2.5 mg orally twice daily
  2. Target: 5 to 10 mg/day divided twice daily
  3. Maximum: 20 mg/day (10 mg/day in the elderly)
  • Mechanism
  1. See Dihydropyridine Calcium Channel Blocker
  2. Selectively inhibits vascular smooth Muscle Contraction and SA Node conduction
  3. Does not reduce cardiac contractility
  4. Does not affect AV Node conduction
  • Adverse Effects

  2. Less reflex Tachycardia than other agents due to selectivity
