  1. Adult: 0.125 to 0.25 mg orally at bedtime for 7 to 10 days as needed
  2. Elderly: 0.125 mg orally at bedtime for 7 to 10 days as needed
  3. Maximum: 0.5 mg at bedtime (0.25 mg is sufficient in most patients)
  • Pharmacokinetics
  1. Half-Life: 1.5-5.5 hours
  2. Metabolized by CYP3A4 to inactive metabolites
  • Precautions
  1. Reports of Psychosis and Violence
    1. Associated with high dose Halcion (>1 mg)
  2. Likely to be as safe as other Benzodiazepines
