  1. Cervical Spine Fracture
    1. Evaluation of Fracture stability
  • Criteria
  1. Morphology
    1. Score 0: No abnormality
    2. Score 1: Compression
    3. Score 2: Burst
    4. Score 3: Translation or Rotation
    5. Score 4: Distraction
  2. Discoligamentous Complex
    1. Score 0: Intact
    2. Score 1: Indeterminate
    3. Score 2: Disrupted
  3. Neurologic Status
    1. Score 0: Intact
    2. Score 1: Nerve Root Injury
    3. Score 2: Complete Cord Injury
    4. Score 3: Incomplete Cord Injury
  • Interpretation
  1. Add total from each of the three categories
  2. Total score >4 is an indication for surgical management
    1. Fracture realignment and stabilization
    2. Decompression
