Technique

Scrub thoroughly in liquid detergent and water OR
Soak in liquid soapy solution after use
Use one of the three sterilization methods below
Technique
Cleaning Method 1 - Autoclave
Temperature
: 121 degrees Celsius, 15 PSI
Time: 20 minutes unwrapped or 30 minutes wrapped
Drying: Allow to air dry (Do NOT use dry cycle)
Storage: in container until use

Cleaning Method 2 - Bleach (e.g. Clorox)
Soak in 1:10 dilution bleach for 30 minutes
Rinse thoroughly under
Running
tap water
Soak in 70%
Isopropyl Alcohol
for 15 minutes
Rinse thoroughly under
Running
tap water
Allow to air dry and store in container until use
Technique
Cleaning Method 3 - Cidex (Glutaraldehyde)
Other cleaning methods are preferred
Causes deterioration of latex
Cidex is hazardous to use in office setting
Ensure adequate ventilation
Immerse in 2% Cidex solution for 20 minutes
Rinse and place in boiling water for 30 minutes
Allow to air dry and store in container until use
