Current guidelines focus on increasing fiber and fluids (after disimpaction protocol)
Prior recommendations limited diet, but without evidence
Milk products were eliminated and replaced wth non-milk products
Foods labeled as "constipating" were eliminated (e.g. apples, bananas, jello, carrots, rice)
