Indications
Patient identifies their typical stool appearance
Types
Type 1: Hard, nut-like stool lumps (difficult passage)
Type 2: Sausage-shaped, lumpy stool
Type 3: Sausage-shaped stool with cracked surface (not lumpy as in Type 2)
Type 4: Snake-shaped, smooth, soft, stool
Type 5: Soft blobs of easily passed stool with clear-cut edges
Type 6: Mushy, fluffy stool pieces with ragged edges
Type 7: Liquid stools with no solid pieces
