    1. WtKg: Weight in kilograms
    2. AgeY: Age in Years
  • Interpretation
  • OST
  1. High Risk of Osteoporosis: Score less than -3
  2. Moderate Risk of Osteoporosis: Score less 1 to -3
  3. Low Risk of Osteoporosis: Score greater than 1
  • Precautions
  1. Calculation assumes no other risk factors for Osteoporosis
    1. Significantly increased risk in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fracture of wrist, hip or rib after age 45
    2. Significantly lower risk if black
  2. Other risks such as low-Trauma related Fractures or long-term Corticosteroids take precedence
