  • Indications
  1. Acute Ankle Sprain
  2. Recurrent Ankle Sprain
  • Preparations
  1. Ankle Lace-Up Brace (e.g. Swedo)
    1. Fabric and elastic sleeve that wraps the proximal foot and high ankle, secured with laces
  2. Semi-Rigid Air Stirrup Brace (air splint, gel splint)
    1. Plastic lateral stirrups cushioned with gel, air or foam at the malleoli

  1. Lace-Up Brace and Air Stirrup are both effective after Lateral Ankle Sprain
