    1. Skin perforated over the Fracture site
  • Types
  • Gustilo and Anderson Classification (GA)
  1. Type 1: Wound <1 cm (lacerated with bone spike)
  2. Type 2: Wound 1-10 cm (high energy Trauma)
  3. Type 3: Wound >10 cm
    1. Type 3a: No periosteal stripping or loss of soft tissue coverage
    2. Type 3b: Loss of soft tissue coverage (requires skin grafting)
    3. Type 3c: Periosteal stripping with loss of bony perfusion to the affected limb
