  1. Seen early in pregnancy and resolves by mid-pregnancy
  2. Result from failed Ovulation
  • Symptoms
  1. Asymptomatic in many cases
  2. Acute Pelvic Pain occurs in Hemorrhagic Ovarian Cyst
  1. Size: 3-8 cm in diameter
  2. Thin-walled, anechoic cyst
  3. Round or oval
  • Course
  1. Immature follicle contains unresorbed fluid
  2. With Ovulation, cyst-lining granulosa cells luteinize
  3. Follicular cyst transitions to corpus luteum
  4. Corpus luteum grows >2.5 cm, forms Corpus Luteal Cyst
