Assessment of Blood Consumption Score, ABC Hemorrhage Score

  • Criteria (1 point assigned for each item)
  1. Penetrating mechanism of injury
  2. Positive focused assessment sonography for Trauma (FAST)
  3. Arrival systolic Blood Pressure of 90 mm Hg or less
  4. Arrival Heart Rate > or = 120 bpm
  • Interpretation
  1. Score 0-1: Massive Transfusion unlikely
  2. Score 3: Massive Transfusion likely
  3. Score 4: Massive Transfusion will be needed
