Background
Purified form of Podophyllotoxin extract
Mechanism
Stops division of infected cells
Preparation
Podofilox (Condylox) 0.5% solution or gel
Apply solution with cotton swab
Apply Gel with finger (easier to apply)
Technique
Cycle application
Apply twice daily for 3 days
Wait 4 days, then restart application cycle
Repeat cycle for up to 4 weekly cycles (maximum 10 cm^2)
Advantages
Less irritating and as effective than
Podophyllin
Can use in conjunction with other methods
Precautions
Allow to dry before moving around
Do not wash off
Do not exceed 0.5 ml per day
Efficacy
Works best on moist mucosal skin sites
Does not work on keratinized
